Jivan Ghimireis a renowned entrepreneur with over three decades of experience across diverse sectors, including education, agriculture, books & stationery, and printing. He began his entrepreneurial journey in the early 1990s as the founder of Koshi Books, a bookshop located in Traffic Chowk, Biratnagar. Within two years of its inception, his bookshop became the largest seller of newspapers and periodicals in the eastern region, which laid the foundation for his business expansion into multiple sectors.
In 1992, Ghimire established Pioneer Printing Press and founded Birat Secondary School (now Lord Buddha School), further diversifying his ventures into printing and education. The success he achieved in these fields inspired him to start a publication house focused on the publication and distribution of school books. In 2005, he founded United Nepal Publications Pvt. Ltd., a book publication company in Kathmandu, along with like-minded investors. At the same time, he launched United Books Distributors Pvt. Ltd. in Biratnagar to expand his book distribution network across eastern region of the country.
The accomplishments in the publication and distribution business prompted Ghimire to venture into the agriculture sector, where he is currently involved in several industries related to agriculture, rubber farming, and education, besides fertilizer and printing. Additionally, Ghimire has made significant contributions to politics and social work. He has already served as the former Honorable Minister of Social Development for Koshi Province from 2017 to 2020. An active member of the Lions Club, he is also related to Manmohan Technical University and Purwanchal University in different roles. He continues to make strides in various entrepreneurial, academic, political, and social spheres.
